It will take you 2-3 days to get used to your nail enhancements.
Nails are not indestructable, they are designed to break under a certain amount of pressure so not to damage your natural nails. Do not use your nails to open cans, use the handle of a spoon or similar. Use the pads of your fingers for typing and txting.
Do not try to use scissors to cut your nails, you will most likely break them. (the nails and the scissors!) If you want to take back the length of your nails, use a file to do so.
If you experience lifting, do not try to fix it using nail glue or pick at it. These can lead to nail fungus in inflamations. If you do find the nails lifting, please let me know so a repair can be done or rebalance if it is 2 weeks since your last appointment.
If you do snap a nail, do not be tempted to pick at any remaining acrylic on your nail as this will damage your nails. You should never glue broken nails back on. Book an appointment for the nail to be re-done.
When applying polish, always use a base coat to provide a base for the polish to adhere to and prevent it from staining the natural nail or enhancement. Always use a top coat after polish to protect it and keep it long lasting. Only use a polish remover that is acetone free.
Always wear gloves when washing up and doing housework to protect them from solvents and cleaning materials.
Your artificial nails need regular maintenance as your natural nail grows underneath. Rebalance appointments should be made fortnightly to maintain the shape & length of your nails. This is because when your nails are created, they have an apex which provides the strength for them, and as your nails grow out, so does this. Which is why a rebalance is needed to restore it back to its original position.
To prevent lifting and maintain healthy nails, cuticle oil should be applied daily to the nails. If you have particulary dry skin around your nails, it should be applied twice a day. Never cut your own cuticles. Cuticle remover is available to gently remove your cuticle over a few weeks.
Never pick, pull, bite or snap your nails off. This will cause unnessesary damage to your nails. If you want your nails removing, book an appointment to have them profesionally removed.
